“in no way can we get such an overwhelming idea of the grandeur of nature than when we consider, that in accordance with the law of the conservation of energy, throughout the infinite, the forces are in a perfect balance, and hence the energy of a single thought may determine the motion of a universe.” nikola tesla

amidst a congruent rhythm, converging forces renders all entities with a serene balance, delicately suspended between motion and stillness. equilibrium is thus a fundamental principle of existence, encapsulating a state of profound alignment and the idea of embracing life in its entirety.

inspired by the fundamental force of gravity, the gravity series features deeply-encrusted clusters of multi-media, a symbolic representation of particles combining due to gravity and ultimately forming asteroids and planets. the moonbeam series is a playful take on a spectrum of colours contained within a beam of light, interpreted through godet pleats in gradient colours that catch the eye. adding to the frission is the colour palette: wild berry pinks, pear greens, azure blues balanced by mist greys, deep blues, bright whites and serene blacks.

drawing inspiration from the timeless concept, the moonray spring summer 2024 collection equilibrium, serves as a testament to this dynamic interplay. through meticulous craftsmanship, the collection harmonizes the age-old artisanal techniques of yore with contemporary sensibilities. in doing so, it not only reflects the balance between the past and the present but also a deeper harmony — one that extends to our roles as individuals within our communities and our interconnected relationship with the environment.

the core of this collection is a commitment to conscious practices — plant-based dyes extracted from roots and foliage are used to create contemporary abstractions through traditional tie-and-dye techniques such as shibori, bandhani and leheriya. this theme extends to a smaller capsule within the collection which features handcraft techniques such as appliqué, patchwork, and micro-beading, enhancing silhouettes defined by clean lines, subtle textures, and organic shapes. the colour palette evokes a sense of serenity, punctuated by occasional bursts of vibrancy, ranging from soothing whites and blacks, soft pastels, and deep indigos to pops of peony pink and herb green.

the collection also embraces forest-stewardship certified textiles such raw organic denim, handwoven organic cottons, luxurious linens and silks embellished with handcrafted three-dimensional floral bouquets made of delicate petals and thorns, gauzy crochet, crystal meshes, polished chrome balls and cut-work detail — all reflecting the contrasting, yet complementary ideals of co-existence and acceptance of the whole.
